Activation reason:
Starting from the 10th of August, 2014 the northern part of Bangladesh and upstream Indian States of Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal and Sikkim have been experiencing heavy rainfall for few days. As a result, districts in the Northwest along the Brahmaputra river have been experiencing low level flooding, causing a rising trend of the major river system and, consequently, some low-lying areas have been inundated.
