Visualisation catalogue

The catalogue is a collection of visualisation tools, trainings and re-usable visualisations for all levels of data visualisation expertise, from beginner to expert.

Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet tool developed by Microsoft for Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. It allows data calculation, graphing tools, pivot tables, as well as macro programming.

Tool
My capital in a bubble

The data visualisation tool "My capital in a bubble" allows comparing the capitals of the EU Member States, EFTA countries and Turkey for more than 30 indicators.

Visualisation type: Dots/ bubbles

Data type: Numerical data

Interaction type: Dynamic

Tool
MATLAB

MATLAB is a programming language developed by MathWorks. It started out as a matrix programming language where linear algebra programming was simple. It can be run both under interactive sessions and as a batch job. MATLAB proposes toolbox for specific applications like statistics analysis, machine learning and finance.

Tool
Mathematica

Mathematica is the creation of Stephen Wolfram. At the heart of Mathematica is a computer algebra system, that is, a system for doing algebraic manipulations symbolically (and therefore exactly). However, Mathematica also incorporates floating point (or finite precision) computation, arbitrary precision arithmetic, graphics, and text processing. It is also a programming environment.

Tool
HighCharts (CHRT)

HichCharts is a JavaScript charting library based on SVG, with fall-backs to VML and canvas for old browsers.

Visualisation type: Bars Dots/ bubbles Lines

Data type: Numerical data

Interaction type: Dynamic

Tool
SAP Lumira

SAP Lumira is known as a visual intelligence tool to create and visualize stories on dataset. It was earlier known as Visual Intelligence tool where you could visualize data and create stories to provide graphical details of the data. Data is entered in Lumira as data set and you can apply filters, hierarchies, calculated columns to build documents on Lumira. You can choose various charts like Bar charts, Pie charts, etc. to visualize the data effectively.

Tool
FusionChart.js

A JavaScript charting library which allows to create interactive charts for web, mobile and enterprise applications. FusionCharts Suite has 90+ chart types and 1000+ maps for visualising data.

Tool
Rstudio

RStudio is an integrated development environment (IDE) for R. It includes a console, syntax-highlighting editor that supports direct code execution, as well as tools for plotting, history, debugging and workspace management. RStudio is available in open source and commercial editions and runs on the desktop (Windows, Mac, and Linux) or in a browser connected to RStudio Server or RStudio Server Pro (Debian/Ubuntu, RedHat/CentOS, and SUSE Linux).

Tool
Daviz

Daviz provides supporting information on how to create interactive data visualisations.

Visualisation type: Bars Dots/ bubbles Lines

Data type: Other

Interaction type: Dynamic

Tool
Raw

"Create custom vector-based visualisations. Primarily conceived as a tool for designers and vis geeks, RAW aims at providing a missing link between spreadsheet applications (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers, Google Docs, OpenRefine, …) and vector graphics editors (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, …)."
