Open data visualization in a fun and interactive way
Gapminder is an independent Swedish foundation that aims to address misconceptions about global development by making data fun and tangible. The service allows users to visualise different types of data ranging from carbon dioxide emissions, child mortality, forestry, life expectancy rates and income in countries around the world. For example, a user can see the average life expectancy against the gross domestic product (GDP) in countries such as Nigeria, Egypt, Australia, Japan, Mexico and Germany. Gapminder collects various types of datasets, such as health data, economic data, pollution data and economic data.
Gapminder is one of the over 400 use cases published on the European Data Portal. If you are aware of another inspiring use case, share your experience and knowledge with the EDP via mail, Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn.
