This indicator is defined as the ratio between the energy consumption of transport and GDP (chain-linked volumes, at 2010 exchange rates). The energy consumed by all types of transport (road, rail, inland navigation and aviation) is covered, including commercial, individual and public transport, with the exception of maritime and pipeline transport.
