A 7.5- magnitude earthquake hit northeastern Afghanistan on Monday afternoon, sending shock waves across southern Asia. The quake's epicenter was 213 kilometers deep and 73 km southeast of Feyzabad in a remote area of Afghanistan in the Hindu Kush mountain range. Extensive damage to buildings and injuries have been reported.
