Discover the EU Open Source Solutions catalogue: Strengthening
collaboration across Europe’s public sector
The EU Open Source Solutions (OSS) catalogue
[https://interoperable-europe.ec.europa.eu/eu-oss-catalogue] is
becoming a central gateway for public administrations across Europe to
discover, share, and reuse open-source tools. Launched in 2025 via the
Interoperable Europe Portal
[https://interoperable-europe.ec.europa.eu/], the catalogue was
created to help public bodies avoid duplicate development, reduce
costs, and accelerate digital transformation by adopting interoperable
solutions.

Today, the catalogue hosts a wide range of open-source solutions
sourced from national and local catalogues across Europe. These
solutions cover over 30 relevant public-sector domains, from digital
citizenship tools and website builders to cloud-management platforms
and geographic information systems. The catalogue continues to expand,
with additional catalogues from Finland, Sweden, Belgium, and EU
institutions already onboarded.

For the open data and interoperability communities, the EU OSS
catalogue directly supports the goals of the Interoperable Europe Act
[https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/reg/2024/903/oj/eng] by promoting
reuse, transparency, and collaboration between Member States. The
technical architecture of the catalogue consolidates solutions by
using public APIs, allowing administrations to access reusable digital
building blocks, omitting the need to start from scratch. This aids in
the creation of citizen-focused services and helps strengthen digital
sovereignty.

Public administrations are invited to explore the catalogue and
contribute their own solutions to help build a more connected and
innovative public sector. By sharing tools and best practices through
the EU OSS catalogue, organisations can collectively advance digital
transformation.
