The new dati.gov.it portal is online
The organisation that manages the Italian Open Data Portal
[https://www.dati.gov.it/],  the Agency for Digital Italy (AgID)
[https://www.agid.gov.it/], recently released an update to the portal
that greatly improves user experience and encourages the sharing of
data between public administrations.

The update enables users to search based on keywords, making the
search service much more effective. Several additional edits have been
made to improve the design of the portal and to make open data more
easily accessible. In addition, the new version of the portal also
incorporates the catalogue of public administration databases. This
now makes the portal the single access point for both the public
administration databases and the open data catalogue in Italy.

The updated portal will play a significant role in Italy’s
three-year plan [https://pianotriennale-ict.italia.it/] in the context
of the Directive on Open Data
[https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=uriserv:OJ.L_.2019.172.01.0056.01.ENG],
which devotes special attention to the quality of metadata and the
growth of the number of dynamic open datasets.

With this update, Italy’s open data catalogue continues to improve
and aims to inspire government to publish, re-use, and share
high-quality data.
