Final webinar in the EU Datathon series
On 17 May, the Publications Office of the EU [https://op.europa.eu/]
hosted their fourth webinar in the EU Datathon 2021 series
[http://op.europa.eu/eudatathon]. Andre Berends and Petar Parushev
presented the Safety Gate data that can be used for all challenges of
the EU Datathon 2021.

Safety Gate [https://ec.europa.eu/safety-gate/#/screen/home] is the
European rapid alert system for non-food products that pose a risk to
the health and safety of consumers. Unsafe products are identified by
the European Commission Market Surveillance Authorities (MSAs) which
creates alerts on the Safety Gate portal. These alerts are also sent
to the OECD Global Recalls portal and data.europa.eu. Consumers are in
turn informed via the website, where they can find alerts on dangerous
products, national contact points, legislation and enforcement
information, and tips to buy and sell online safely and securely.

The website is available in all EU languages, and provides:

 	* a summary of alerts that help users identify products; and
 	* information about the risks and measures taken to prevent or
restrict those risks.
