Register now for the deep-dive session on artificial intelligence and
data ecosystems
Get ready for an exciting start in 2024 as the data.europa academy
[https://data.europa.eu/en/academy] gears up for an interesting
line-up of webinars and panel discussions! The first panel discussion
of this series is set to unravel the rapidly evolving landscape of
artificial intelligence (AI) and its profound impact on data
generation, data governance and data policy within open data
ecosystems.

During these engaging sessions, we will examine the legal and policy
challenges surrounding AI. The first panel discussion will focus on
the intricate web of data ownership, date use, and the legal
dimensions. It will be held on 19 January from 10.00 - 11.30 CET

Join us as we probe into the legitimacy of using open datasets to
train AI. Experts from both the legal and the digital innovation side
will be present at the panel discussion.

Together, we will cover the critical questions around the permissions
and licensing terms for using open data to train AI algorithms. And
what about the ownership rights of AI-generated content; do they
belong to the creator, the algorithm, or the end-user? Notably, we
will also explore upcoming regulations such as the EU AI Act, a
prominent legislation aiming to ensure AI safety, transparency,
non-discrimination, and eco-friendliness of which a provisional
agreement was reached on 9 December last year
