Enhance your data skills: Big Data Test Infrastructure (BDTI) Skills
Studio workshops
The BDTI Skills Studio [https://europa.eu/!GqxMhg] is a place to
learn essential data skills for free. Launched in September, it will
continue with a series of engaging workshops throughout October and
November. Workshops are organised to equip public administrations
and proactive citizens with essential data analytics skills. Moreover,
participants can uncover valuable insights, enhance public services by
understanding how to utilise open data, and support a better future
for citizens at the local, regional, and national level.

A successful series of three workshops in September have taken place
already, which you can rewatch:

	* ‘An introduction to geospatial analytics
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NffHCOhzttw&t=13s]’ taught
techniques, and participants learnt about visualising spatial data.
	* ‘An introduction to statistics
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3kJtR15EBo]’ touched upon topics
like probability, distributions, and more statistical analysis
skills.
	* ‘An introduction to graph analytics
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8meQEOuLlWI]’ teaches you how to
uncover patterns and insights by applying graph analytics.

In October and November, the workshops continue. The first one
‘Dashboard for data visualisation: Analysing and presenting traffic
accident insight
[https://big-data-test-infrastructure.ec.europa.eu/bdti-skills-studio/dashboards-data-visualisation-analysing-and-presenting-traffic-accident-insights-2024-10-02_en]’
has just taken place; it is however still possible to register for the
following upcoming sessions:

	* 16 OCTOBER: ‘COMMUNICATING COMPLEX DATASETS: INTEGRATING
REAL-TIME DATA FOR URBAN INSIGHT
[https://big-data-test-infrastructure.ec.europa.eu/bdti-skills-studio/communicating-complex-datasets-integrating-real-time-data-urban-insights-2024-10-16_en]’
Learn how to turn complex datasets into clear, actionable insights. In
this session, real-time traffic and air quality data are combined to
monitor and improve urban environments.
	* 6 NOVEMBER: ‘HARNESSING CLIMATE DATA: CLASSIFICATION AND
PREDICTIVE ANALYTICS FOR TOURISM
[https://big-data-test-infrastructure.ec.europa.eu/bdti-skills-studio/harnessing-climate-data-classification-and-predictive-analytics-tourism-2024-11-06_en]’
Unlock the power of data classification and predictive analytics to
forecast tourism conditions. Machine learning techniques using
historical weather data to predict Tourism Climate Index
classifications are explored.
	* 20 NOVEMBER: ‘PREDICTIVE MODELLING AND REAL-TIME ANALYSIS:
REAL-TIME FORECASTING AND MONITORING OF BICYCLE USE
[https://big-data-test-infrastructure.ec.europa.eu/bdti-skills-studio/predictive-modelling-and-real-time-analysis-real-time-forecasting-and-monitoring-bicycle-use-2024-11-20_en]’
Get hands-on experience with predictive modelling by forecasting
bicycle traffic in Paris. Learn how to analyse historical data and
compare predictions with real-time data for dynamic insights.

The workshops show you how you can use open data, like the datasets of
data.europa.eu

for analysis. So, if you are interested in enhancing your data skills,
be sure to register for these freely accessible workshops!
