ENDORSE 2025: Advancing semantic interoperability and AI in public
services
The ENDORSE 2025 [https://op.europa.eu/en/web/endorse] conference,
hosted by the Publications Office of the European Union
[https://op.europa.eu/en/] in Brussels, brought together experts from
across Europe to discuss the latest developments in semantic
technologies, reference data, and artificial intelligence. The event
served as a platform for collaboration among EU institutions,
academia, and industry.

Over 2 days, participants explored how semantic interoperability can
enhance digital public services, improve multilingual knowledge
sharing, and support cross-border collaboration. Sessions covered
practical applications of AI, the role of standards in data
governance, and the implications of the EU AI Act
[https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/reg/2024/1689/oj/eng]. The conference
also featured live demos, expert panels, and networking
opportunities.

During the conference, the European Data Portal
[https://data.europa.eu/en] provided insights into the semantic
challenges of harvesting data from data spaces. The session, led by
knowledge management officer Pavlina Fragkou, elaborated on the aims
of the European strategy for data
[https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=CELEX%3A52020DC0066]
and the challenges it presents in practice for the collection and
reuse of data by the European Data Portal.

The insights shared at ENDORSE 2025 offer valuable guidance for
shaping the future of digital Europe. To stay engaged with the ENDORSE
