Learn about AI solutions in the European public sector
Explore the recently published dataset
[https://data.europa.eu/data/datasets/selected-ai-cases-in-the-public-sector?locale=en] to
get insights into cases where Artificial Intelligence (AI) was used
within European public sector bodies. The dataset is published by
the Joint Research Centre [https://ec.europa.eu/jrc/en] (JRC) in the
context of the European Location Interoperability Solutions for
e-Government
[https://joinup.ec.europa.eu/collection/elise-european-location-interoperability-solutions-e-government/about]
(ELISE) action.

The cases included in the dataset are collected by the AI Watch
[https://ec.europa.eu/knowledge4policy/ai-watch_en], a European
Commission Knowledge for policy initiative. A series of activities,
such as surveys, workshops, interviews, and desk research, have been
conducted within the AI Watch to collect the cases. These cases
provide a better understanding of the type of AI solutions available
in European governments. Every case in the dataset is documented with
a title, the main country of adoption, the administrative level and a
web link to find more information. You can additionally consult the
cases via AI-X, an experimental viewer
[https://ai-watch.github.io/AI-watch-T6-X], visualising the cases for
all European countries.

The dataset must not be considered a complete and systematic inventory
of AI solutions in Europe, but rather be used as a way to find some
examples of adoption and implementation of AI in European governments.
The dataset is openly available and will be continuously updated, at
least until the end of 2021. You can use this online survey
[https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/IA-of-AI-public-sector]to add
new cases.
