EU Datathon 2022: the proposals are in!
The deadline to submit proposals for applications using open data from
data.europa.eu [https://data.europa.eu/en] closed on 31 March 2022. We
are pleased to announce that we received a record 156 proposals to
address this year´s challenges!

OVERVIEW

The proposals came from 121 teams, from 38 countries. The challenge
‘A Europe fit for the digital age’ attracted highest number of app
proposals (59). It was followed by the challenge ‘European Green
Deal’ (47).

The two other public procurement challenges using ted.europa.eu
together collected 50 proposals, broken down into:

 	*
Transparency in public procurement (26)

 	*
EU public procurement opportunities for young people (24)

WHAT’S NEXT?

The proposals are now being evaluated to start a two-stage selection
process, a new feature, compared with previous editions.

The first phase selects 24 teams (6 per challenge) who will then
prepare their full proposal for the second selection phase, from which
12 finalist teams will emerge.

These 12 finalist teams will have more than five months to prepare
their application in time for the finale of EU Datathon on 20 October
2022. We wish to thank all the teams for their effort and interest in
EU open data and EU Datathon and wish them good luck!
