Provide your feedback to the Implementing Act on High Value Datasets

Provide your feedback to the European Commission's draft Implementing
Act on High Value Datasets until 21 JUNE 2022. After launching an open
public consultation on the Implementing Act, the Commission now seeks
to gather feedback from citizens and stakeholders on the draft
implementing regulation.

In the framework of the Open Data Directive
[https://digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu/en/policies/legislation-open-data],
the European Commission will adopt an Implementing Act specifying
those High Value Datasets (HVDs) that public sector organisations will
have to make available free of charge, in machine-readable format, via
Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and, where relevant, as a
bulk download.

Such HVDs are defined in the Open Data Directive as public sector
documents, the re-use of which is associated with important benefits
for society, the environment and the economy. HVDs will be re-usable
for any purpose, as is the case for open data.

The Open Data Directive currently defines six categories of HVDs:
geospatial, earth observation and environment, meteorological,
statistics, companies and company ownership, mobility. For a later
stage, the Open Data Directive allows the Commission to extend this
initial thematic range if necessary to reflect technological and
market developments.
