The first round of the European Statistics Awards Programme has been
launched
 

To further engage with the innovation community at large and to
encourage the creation of solutions for statistical production,
Eurostat [https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat] is launching the EUROPEAN
STATISTICS AWARDS PROGRAMME [https://statistics-awards.eu/].

The first round of this programme, which offers competitions in the
fields of nowcasting and web intelligence, has just been opened. Until
the 29 SEPTEMBER 2022, teams of researchers, developers, and
methodologists can sign up and have the chance to win up to 8 000 EUR
in prizes (per time series) for their nowcasts. 

Teams may sign up to try their skills for one or more of the following
three-monthly time series: 

 	* industry production volume
[https://statistics-awards.eu/competitions/2] 
 	* producer price indices
[https://statistics-awards.eu/competitions/1] 
 	* number of nights spent at tourist accommodation establishments
[https://statistics-awards.eu/competitions/3] 

The award ceremony of this year´s competition is planned on 20
OCTOBER 2023, on the 2023 European Statistics Day
[https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/web/european-statistical-system/european-statistics-day].
