Learn about the key highlights of the webinar ‘Open Data Maturity
2022: Diving deeper into the portal dimension’
On Friday 14 July 2023 from 10.00 to 11.30 CET, the data.europa
academy [https://data.europa.eu/en/academy] hosted a webinar on the
portal dimension following the Open Data Maturity (ODM) report 2022
[https://data.europa.eu/sites/default/files/data.europa.eu_landscaping_insight_report_n8_2022_1_1.pdf].
This was the third webinar in a series of webinars on the Open Data
Maturity (ODM) report 2022. The first webinar, that took place on 10
February 2023,
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Gew_t4Yv_c] introduced the ODM
assessment, provided insights into the level of maturity of the 35
participating countries in Europe and presented the main trends.
During this webinar, the four dimensions of ODM were introduced:
quality, portal, policy and impact.

The second webinar in the ‘Open Data Maturity 2022’ series
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4nTdo2hQt0&feature=youtu.be] took
place on 18 April 2023, focusing on the ‘quality’ dimension,
highlighting the measuring and monitoring mechanisms to ensure quality
of data and metadata. The most recent webinar in the series focused on
the ‘portal’ dimension. This dimension is divided into four key
indicators: portal features, portal usage, data provision, and portal
sustainability.

The webinar started with a brief introduction to the ODM report 2022,
followed by a deep dive into the portal dimension and its key
indicators. Following this, France and Poland, that performed
particularly well in the 2022 ODM portal dimension, provided insights
into their journey to improving the portal dimension. They shared best
practices by looking at portal features such as data publishing and
creating visualisations. After the presentations, the representatives
answered questions from the audience on how to ensure continuous
improvement of the quality and impact of data on the portal and
technical features.
