Learn about the key highlights of the webinar ‘Data spaces:
Experiences from strategic data spaces’
On FRIDAY, 15 SEPTEMBER 2023 FROM 10.00 TO 11.30 CET,
the data.europa academy [https://data.europa.eu/en/academy] hosted
the webinar ‘Data spaces: Experiences from strategic data spaces
[https://youtu.be/RmMhfRbFiqg]’. This second webinar in the data
spaces series presented the state of play and requirements of two
strategic data spaces: the Health data space

and the Cultural Heritage data space
[https://hadea.ec.europa.eu/calls-proposals/data-space-cultural-heritage_en].

With the goal of harnessing the value of data for the benefit of the
European economy and society, the European Commission actively
supports the development of common European data spaces in ten
strategic fields as outlined in the European data strategy
[https://commission.europa.eu/strategy-and-policy/priorities-2019-2024/europe-fit-digital-age/european-data-strategy_en].

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9U-eKVtspA&pp=ygUfZGF0YSBzcGFjZXMgZGF0YSBldXJvcGEgYWNhZGVteQ%3D%3D] took
place on 12 May and introduced the concept of data spaces and the
policy and legal framework behind it.

In this second webinar, concrete examples were provided for both the
Health and Cultural Heritage data spaces. Two experts shed light on
how these spaces contribute to the European data strategy and provided
insights into their future. The session included a discussion on the
similarities and differences between the common European data spaces
in various strategic fields.

To conclude, participants had the opportunity to ask their questions
to the two experts in a Q&A session. Topics such as governance within
the data spaces, interoperability and the involvement of various
stakeholders in building these data spaces were discussed.
