Language Data Space and data interoperability: A recap of our April
webinars
Throughout April the data.europa academy
[https://data.europa.eu/en/academy] hosted two insightful
webinars, focused on key topics in the field of data spaces and
interoperability. These sessions brought together experts,
professionals, and other interested participants to explore the latest
developments, share knowledge, and discuss practical implementations
across Europe. Combined, the webinars attracted over 1500 registrants
to the platform.

The first session, ‘Data spaces: experience from the European
Language Data Space
[https://data.europa.eu/en/news-events/events/webinar-data-spaces-experience-european-language-data-space]’,
offered participants a deep dive into the European Language Data
Space [https://language-data-space.ec.europa.eu/index_en] (LDS). With
expert speakers from DG CONNECT and the Institute for Language and
Speech Processing, the webinar explored the landscape of language
technologies and the role of the LDS within it. Attendees also had the
opportunity to witness a live demonstration of the LDS marketplace.
The webinar was recorded, and both the recording

now available for viewing.

The second webinar, ‘Unlocking data interoperability: exploring
ways of standardisation with real use cases’
[https://data.europa.eu/en/news-events/events/webinar-unlocking-data-interoperability-exploring-ways-standardisation-real-use],
focused on practical approaches to enhancing data interoperability. It
opened with an overview of DCAT-AP, covering its current status,
future direction, and guidance on creating profiles. National
representatives from Czechia and France then shared real-life
examples. Czechia presented its national DCAT-AP profile and efforts
to improve metadata quality, while France outlined the tools and
methods it uses to ensure high data quality, including harvesting
techniques. If you missed the webinar, you can watch the recording

Throughout these April sessions, participants gained practical
insights into evolving standards and real-world applications. More
expert-led webinars are on the way. Keep an eye on the data.europa
