Climate change is one of the most pressing challenges of our time,
affecting ecosystems, economies, and communities across Europe and
beyond. In response, the European Union
[https://european-union.europa.eu/index_en] has set ambitious climate
goals through initiatives such as the European Green Deal
[https://commission.europa.eu/strategy-and-policy/priorities-2019-2024/european-green-deal_en],
aiming to meet the targets of the Paris Agreement.

Achieving these objectives requires informed decision-making,
cross-sector collaboration, and access to reliable, transparent data.
Open data can support this by enabling evidence-based policymaking,
empowering citizens, and fostering innovation through the reuse of
publicly available information.

During this webinar, two guest speakers will share how open data can
be used to address climate challenges in practical and impactful ways.
They will demonstrate how publishing climate data can unlock public
value, for example, through innovation challenges that lead to
real-world solutions. The session will also explore how data
visualisation can make climate change more tangible and emotionally
resonant, helping people better understand and engage with the
issue.
