European Mobility Week: Moving towards sustainable transport for all
Every year, European cities, organisations, and citizens come together
for the European Mobility week [https://mobilityweek.eu/home], the
European Commission's flagship event on sustainable urban mobility.
The initiative encourages people to explore cleaner and healthier ways
of travelling, including walking, cycling, public transport and shared
mobility solutions. The week concludes with the popular car-free day
and highlights how sustainable transport can improve factors such as
air quality, reduce carbon emissions and make towns and cities more
pleasant to live in.

The 2026 edition with the theme 'Mobility for Everyone' invites
communities to consider how transport systems can better serve people
of all ages, from children and young people to older adults. Local
authorities are encouraged to test innovative mobility measures,
engage residents, and showcase solutions that create safer, more
accessible, and more inclusive urban environments. More information
about this year's priorities is available on the official European
Mobility Week website [https://mobilityweek.eu/home].

Open data stimulates cities by helping them plan and improve
sustainable mobility. Datasets on traffic flows, air quality, cycling
infrastructure, and public transport usage can support evidence-based
decision-making and help authorities monitor the impact of mobility
policies. Through the European Data Portal, users can access thousands
of datasets that contribute to smarter transport planning and more
sustainable urban development across Europe.

Whether you are a researcher or an interested citizen, the European
Mobility Week offers an opportunity to help shape the future of
transport. Visit the campaign portal
