GreenHouse Gases Concentration - ICOS Level 1 and Level 2 data

Collection: ABCIS : Ispra Atmosphere Biosphere Climate Integrated monitoring Station of the JRC

Description

Measurement of atmospheric concentration of greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, methane) performed in compliance with ICOS protocols established for class-2 atmospheric stations (https://www.icos-cp.eu/about/join-icos/process-stations#toc-station-classes-class-1-class-2-associated-stations). Measurements are performed at the ICOS class-2 atmosphere station in Ispra (building 77r). This station is a component of the European Commission Atmospheric Observatory. Near Real-Time (NRT) measurements are Level 1 ICOS data that are not fully quality checked. NRT data is a growing time series starting from the last ICOS data release of Level 2 data, that is from 01/04/2023. Level 2 data are fully quality checked measurements starting from 15/12/2017 till 31/03/2023.

Level 2 measurement of methane atmospheric concentration at 60m
URL
  • Final quality controlled concentration of methane at 100m above ground level. Concentrations are measured at the ICOS class-2 atmosphere station in Ispra (Italy).

NRT (Level 1) measurement of methane atmospheric concentration at 60m

  • Near Real-Time concentration of methane at 60m above ground level. Concentrations are measured at the ICOS class-2 atmosphere station in Ispra (Italy). Near Real-Time (NRT, Level 1) data is not the final highest quality data. This data is generated using only completely automated quality control procedures. These NRT time series are generated within 24 hours after measurement and will not be updated later using improved information or become completed with missing data. For your analysis and publications we recommend to use the final completely quality controlled and flagged (Level 2) data that is released with a delay between 6-12 months, that includes all corrections and maximum completion of missing data.
