No 101/2002

of 12 July 2002

amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Annex II to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 54/2002 of 31 May 2002(1).

(2) Commission Recommendation 2001/838/EC of 7 November 2001 on the results of the risk-evaluation and the risk-reduction strategies for the substances: acrylaldehyde; dimethyl sulphate; nonylphenol phenol, 4-nonyl-, branched; tert-butyl methyl ether(2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(3) Commission Directive 2002/18/EC of 22 February 2002 amending Annex I to Council Directive 91/414/EEC concerning the placing of plant-protection products on the market to include isoproturon as an active substance(3) is to be incorporated into the Agreement,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

Chapter XV of Annex II to the Agreement shall be amended as follows:

1. the following indent shall be added in point 12a (Council Directive 91/414/EEC):

"- 32002 L 0018: Commission Directive 2002/18/EC of 22 February 2002 (OJ L 55, 26.2.2002, p. 29).";

2. Under the heading "ACTS OF WHICH THE CONTRACTING PARTIES SHALL TAKE NOTE", the following point shall be inserted after point 20 (Commission Recommendation 2001/194/EC):

"21. 32001 H 0838: Commission Recommendation 2001/838/EC of 7 November 2001 on the results of the risk evaluation and the risk reduction strategies for the substances: acrylaldehyde; dimethyl sulphate; nonylphenol phenol, 4-nonyl-, branched; tert-butyl methyl ether (OJ L 319, 4.12.2001, p. 30)."

Article 2

The texts of Recommendation 2001/838/EC and Directive 2002/18/EC in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 13 July 2002, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(4).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Communities.
