DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE

No 91/2004

of 9 July 2004

amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as ‘the Agreement’, and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1)

Annex I to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 69/2004 of 8 June 2004 (1).

(2)

Commission Decision 2003/506/EC of 3 July 2003 amending Decisions 2001/881/EC drawing up a list of border inspection posts agreed for veterinary checks on animals and animal products from third countries, and 2002/459/EC listing the units in the ANIMO computer network (2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(3)

Commission Decision 2003/630/EC of 29 August 2003 laying down the transitional measures to be applied by Hungary with regard to veterinary checks on products of animal origin from Romania (3) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(4)

This Decision is not to apply to Liechtenstein,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

Part 1.2 of Chapter I of Annex I to the Agreement shall be amended as follows:

1.

The following indent shall be added in points 39 (Commission Decision 2001/881/EC) and 46 (Commission Decision 2002/459/EC):

‘—

32003 D 0506: Commission Decision 2003/506/EC of 3 July 2003 (OJ L 172, 10.7.2003, p. 16).’

2.

The following point shall be inserted after point 113 (Commission Decision 2002/349/EC):

‘114.

32003 D 0630: Commission Decision 2003/630/EC of 29 August 2003 laying down the transitional measures to be applied by Hungary with regard to veterinary checks on products of animal origin from Romania (OJ L 218, 30.8.2003, p. 55).

This act applies also to Iceland.’

Article 2

The texts of Decisions 2003/506/EC and 2003/630/EC in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 10 July 2004, provided that all the notifications under Article 103 (1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee (4).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
