DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE

No 251/2016

of 2 December 2016

amending Annex XX (Environment) to the EEA Agreement [2018/1187]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1)

Commission Decision (EU) 2016/1332 of 28 July 2016 establishing the ecological criteria for the award of the EU Ecolabel for furniture (1) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2)

Decision (EU) 2016/1332 repeals Commission Decision 2009/894 (2), which is incorporated in the EEA Agreement and is consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement.

(3)

Annex XX to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The text of point 2zd (Commission Decision 2009/894/EC) of Annex XX to the EEA Agreement is replaced by the following:

‘32016 D 1332: Commission Decision (EU) 2016/1332 of 28 July 2016 establishing the ecological criteria for the award of the EU Ecolabel for furniture (OJ L 210, 4.8.2016, p. 100).’

Article 2

The text of Decision (EU) 2016/1332 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 3 December 2016, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*1).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
