COUNCIL JOINT ACTION 2009/294/CFSP

of 23 March 2009

amending Joint Action 2008/736/CFSP on the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia, EUMM Georgia

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on European Union, and in particular Article 14 thereof,

Whereas:

(1)

On 15 September 2008, the Council adopted Joint Action 2008/736/CFSP on the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia, EUMM Georgia (1), with a financial reference amount of EUR 31 000 000.

(2)

On 25 September 2008, the Council adopted Joint Action 2008/759/CFSP amending Joint Action 2008/736/CFSP on the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia, EUMM Georgia (2), in order to increase the financial reference amount to EUR 35 000 000.

(3)

The financial reference amount for EUMM Georgia should be increased further, with effect from 1 February 2009, in order to allow for the additional operational needs of the Mission,

HAS ADOPTED THIS JOINT ACTION:

Article 1

Article 14(1) of Joint Action 2008/736/CFSP shall be replaced by the following:

‘1.   The financial reference amount intended to cover the expenditure related to the Mission shall be EUR 37 100 000.’.

Article 2

This Joint Action shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.

It shall apply from 1 February 2009.

Article 3

This Joint Action shall be published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
