Open Standards for Data
Open EU data standards — including, for example, DCAT-AP (for data catalogues), Core Vocabularies (for people, organisations, locations and public services) and INSPIRE (for geospatial data) — are part of a broader framework supporting interoperability, consistency and cross-border data reuse across Member States.
Schema.org complements these by improving web discoverability: its structured vocabulary helps search engines understand datasets, organisations, events and services, making public data more findable and understandable.
Together, these standards foster transparency, innovation and a more open, efficient European data ecosystem.
