Open Data Leaders Network 2017

Call for Applications now open!

The Open Data Leaders Network (ODLN) has published its Call for Applications for the ODLN fifth edition to take place in London on 9-13 October 2017.

The ODLN programme is a collaborative initiative of the Open Data for Development (OD4D) Network, a partnership funded by Canada's International Development Research Centre (IDRC), the World Bank, United Kingdom's Department for International Development (DFID), and Global Affairs Canada (GAC).

Through a five-day intensive training, the ODLN aims to develop participants' skills in Open Data leadership, advocacy and communication, innovation, understanding data users, as well as the practical aspects of managing data and working with existing tools. The intensive programme will be facilitated by trainers from the Open Data Institute. The training will provide participants with the necessary know-how to effectively lead Open Data initiatives. The collaborative and interactive format will allow participants to share and discuss the problems they face in their work and develop solutions through a tested, peer-to-peer methodology.

For more information about the ODLN programme, watch the short film and read the testimonials of participants from previous editions. A preliminary agenda of the Fifth ODLN Edition can be found here. For information on the application process and potential funding opportunities, visit the designated space on the Open Data Institute website. For EU public administration representatives, the European Data Portal will fund the training costs for the six strongest applications. The application deadline for this year's edition is 13 September, so hurry up and apply for the Open Data Leaders Network 2017!
