Why people make use of CKAN
In the beginning of October 2016, Open Data experts from all over the world got together in Madrid at the International Open Data Conference (IODC). During the conference, all aspects of Open Data were discussed and presented. One of these subjects concerned the platforms used to manage and distribute Open Data. While there are a number of Open Data platforms available, the European Data Portal makes use of CKAN because it is an Open Source platform and there is a strong community behind it. Representatives of the platform participated in the IODC, presenting the platform and discussing with potential users.
To get a better understanding how CKAN is used and how it is experienced, a number of big users were interviewed for a short video.
