On 21 November 2023, Brussels will be filled with anticipation as OSOR, the European Commission Open Source Observatory, prepares to host a landmark event. The “OSOR turns 15: from pioneering to mainstreaming open technologies in public services" conference will gather the wide OSOR community to celebrate together a decade and half of open source advancement in the EU public sector.

OSOR has been instrumental in fostering the adoption of open technologies, particularly open-source solutions in public administrations across the EU. As the observatory celebrates its milestone, the anniversary conference will stand as its first large-scale event, a testament to the success made over the years. The conference aims to unite representatives from public administrations at all levels within the EU, creating an inclusive platform for them to share their experiences, achievements, and challenges in adopting open-source solutions and initiatives. Experts from the public sector, business, NGOs, academia, and open-source enthusiasts will take part in the event.

The “OSOR turns 15" conference will delve into crucial topics, including policy matters, collaboration on open-source initiatives between public administrations, and showcasing of successful open-source projects at the regional and municipal level. Each session will be enriched by expert moderators and 4-5 accomplished speakers and panelists.
