Open data to inform about the situation in Ukraine

The portal provides data related to Russia’s invasion from both national and supranational publishers

Millions of people affected by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine have fled the country. In this crisis, providing reliable information is key to manage humanitarian aid and collect evidence to support the country. Monitoring  the movement of refugees from Ukraine to other countries in Europe helps governments to make the necessary strategic decisions based on factual data.

Since the beginning of the war, data.europa.eu joined the initiative and provides the central access point to information from national and supranational data portals on the effects of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Information at your fingertips

Over 2 million persons from a myriad of nationalities have evacuated from Ukraine over the last weeks. The Polish open data portal published the dataset ‘Border situation statistics with Ukraine’, which displays updated information on border crossings reported by the Polish Border Guard Headquarters.  

Another set of data is related to the EU sanctions against Russia is published in the Official Journal of the European Union. This dataset, published by the Publications Office of the European Union, contains a list of measures of assistance to Ukraine as well as related restrictive measures that the EU has taken in solidarity with Ukraine.
