A recap of 2025 and what to look forward to in 2026
As 2025 is slowly coming to an end, the European Data Portal team extends our warmest holiday greetings to all our data providers and the open data community. We have marked another year full of great milestones and achievements to celebrate together. This year has brought us closer together and enabled new partnerships and learning opportunities, which allowed us to spread the wealth of knowledge behind open data far and wide. We are grateful for your continued support and engagement in our data community in 2025.
This year, the European Data Portal transformed itself to ensure a more user-friendly, elevated experience. We redesigned our homepage, making our portal’s features even easier to navigate, and enabled a central place where our services are easy to find. We also gave our Open Data Maturity page a makeover, making the report more interactive and more straightforward.
In our commitment to ensuring we stayed on track with open data developments, we completed our interactive data stories series focusing on High-value datasets, and published various new studies. The data.europa academy also hosted many insightful webinars and trainings, enabling users to enhance their data literacy and broaden their knowledge on open data across sectors. In 2025, we also had the opportunity to host the EU Open Data Days and brought data providers together for a knowledge exchange workshop.
As we look towards 2026, we can ensure we will keep contributing to growing the open data community. With exciting things coming from the data.europa academy, as well as new upcoming studies and data stories, users can look forward to lots of new content next year.
