SEMIC 2017 Conference followed by more than 1100 participants

Participants from 33 countries attended SEMIC

SEMIC 2017, the seventh edition of the annual Semantic Interoperability Conference organised under the scope of the ISA2 Programme, took place on 14 June in Valletta, Malta. The conference was attended by 220 participants on-site and a further 800+ online, which makes this seventh edition of SEMIC the most successful one so far.

Twenty speakers shared their views and experience on how semantic interoperability can improve the delivery of digital public services across the EU. SEMIC 2017 focused specifically on data and information management. Markku Markkula, president of the Committee of the Regions, provided the participants with valuable insight from the regional and local persective on how to boost the potential of semantic interoperability in Europe, highlighting that smooth data exchange is of crucial importance to European cities and regions.
