Hurricane Matthew is an ongoing powerful and deadly tropical cyclone over the Atlantic Ocean. It impacted Haiti, Jamaica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, and The Bahamas. It is expected to significantly impact the southeastern United States, especially the U.S. state of Florida, as well as Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Heavy rains, strong winds and storm surge may affect the areas along its path. The effects of the storm will be unlike any hurricane in decades, the U.S. weather service said.
