Building bridges for digital Europe: Interoperable Europe (IOPEU) Monitoring Collection

Providing public administrations with tools, guidance, and a community to deliver seamless interoperable services across Europe

The European Interoperability Framework (EIF) was adopted by the European Commission in 2017 to provide guidance on how interoperable digital public services can be set up. This framework offers EU public administrations 47 concrete recommendations on improving governance of their interoperability activities, facilitating cross-organisational relationships, and streamlining processes that support end-to-end digital services.

In order to make the recommendations actionable for users of the framework, the Commission created Interoperable Europe (IOPEU) Monitoring Collection, together with the newly updated EIF Solutions Finder. The solutions page is designed to guide national public administrations with the necessary tools to align their National Interoperability Frameworks with the EIF to promote interoperability at both a national and European level. The IOPEU Monitoring Collection also contains guiding documents focused on the EIF’s policy context and implementation needs, supported and reusable solutions focused on alignment and implementation of the framework, and a Knowledge Center

With the EIF Solutions Finder, users can ensure that the interoperability principles of the EIF are applied so that open data is accessible and usable across all sectors. To further extend user knowledge, the Commission created a News and Events page where events and activities are listed to support knowledge exchange, mutual learning, and capacity building.

Whether you are interested in building open data platforms, aligning the EU digital policies, or curious about interoperability across Europe, the IOPEU Monitoring Collection contains the guidance, tools, and community needed to succeed. Make use of data.europa.eu to learn more about interoperability and understand its implementation throughout Europe.
