Open Data at the heart of Stockholm's smart city strategy

Stockholm adopts new smart city strategy

On 3 April 2017 the City Council of Stockholm adopted a strategy to further develop the smart city through coordination of the City's work on digitalisation. The strategy has been developed together with the citizens of Stockholm, as they could express their needs and interests in a survey that was conducted as part of the development of the smart city strategy.

Open Data has a crucial role in further developing the smart city of Stockholm. The smart city is made possible through connectivity, Open Data, IT platforms that can communicate with each other, sensors and other smart technologies. To promote innovation and openness, the city of Stockholm is working actively to provide Open Data through the Open Stockholm portal.

Stockholm City currently provides one third of all Open Data from the Swedish public sector. At the Open Stockholm portal, you can choose from over 100 Open Data sources.
