The Democracy’s Firewall Hackathon, hosted by the Council of Europe, brings together multidisciplinary teams to co-create innovative solutions against online disinformation. Held in Strasbourg, this dynamic event invites technologists, creatives, and policy experts to explore themes such as algorithmic transparency, media literacy, and the detection of disinformation networks.
Participants will benefit from expert mentorship, including guidance from Flora Kopelou, a data.europa.eu team member, and explore themes such as alogirthmic transparency, and media literacy. Selected teams will receive full travel and accommodation support, and the winning team will be awarded €3,000, with the possibility of receiving further support by the Council of Europe so it can be implemented.
