Join the EU Datathon 2020
Tomorrow, the 12 shortlisted teams will compete in the online final of the EU Datathon 2020 – an EU open data competition. The pre-selection selected them out of the 121 submitted proposals, the highest number of entries since the first EU Datathon in 2017.
The 12 finalists are expected to present up-and-running applications that use open data made available by EU institutions, agencies and bodies. Each application should address one of the four key challenges set by the European Commission:
- Challenge 1: ‘A European Green Deal’
- Challenge 2: ‘An economy that works for people’
- Challenge 3: ‘A new push for European democracy’
- Challenge 4: ‘A Europe fit for the digital age’
These applications should contribute to a greener economy, transform rural areas, foster transparency, defend our democracy against disinformation or provide educational tools to adapt to digitalisation. Explore what these teams are developing by watching the ‘Behind the scenes’ videos.
