NextGenerationEU: Europe’s recovery and resilience from COVID-19
Converting crisis into opportunity to create a greener, smarter Europe
NextGenerationEU is the European Union’s instrument to one of the greatest challenges in its history: the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. For example, the Digital Europe Programme, helps improve digital skills, infrastructure, and cybersecurity, while EU4Health supports stronger healthcare systems. Together, these initiatives strengthen Europe’s ability to face future challenges and support member states in building a more sustainable and resilient Union.

By making a wide range of EU and national datasets publicly accessible through platforms such as data.europa.eu, the EU empowers citizens, journalists, researchers, and policymakers to explore, analyse, and reuse information for greater insight. To monitor each country’s progress in carrying out their Recovery and Resilience Plans, the Recovery and Resilience Scoreboard provides detailed, interactive data on milestones, spending, and implementation timelines, further strengthening visibility and trust.
