Discover the potential of data spaces in the financial sector

Mark your calendars for the latest webinar of our data spaces series. On Friday, 14 February 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 CET, we will explore the intersection of open data and finance during the engaging webinar ‘Data spaces: experience from the European Financial Data Space’.

In line with the European Data Strategy, the European Commission has outlined a framework for the creation of Common European Data Spaces in a number of strategic fields. The purpose of these data spaces is to make a wider range of data available for access and reuse, with the goal of creating a single market for data that ensures Europe’s global competitiveness. Finance is one of these key sectors, where the integration of open data is reshaping how individuals and institutions interact with financial services. The development of the European Financial Data Space (EFDS) is revolutionising financial data management and improving interoperability across Europe.

During the webinar, representatives from the Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union will share key insights into the EFDS’s implementation. Attendees will learn about the challenges, successes, and lessons learned so far. Additionally, the strategic importance of the EFDS in fostering innovation will be highlighted, improving market transparency, and providing better access to finance for European businesses. This webinar is open to anyone interested in the role of open data in the financial sector.

Save the date and register today for this webinar to join us in learning more about the future of financial data in Europe. Participants will have the opportunity to gain insights from experts in the field and ask their questions in an engaging discussion.
