On Friday, 6 October 2023 from 10.00 to 11.30 CET, the data.europa academy will host the webinar ‘Data spaces: Discovering the building blocks’. It will present the present the most technical and operational aspects of data spaces, introducing SIMPL, B2 DIGIT (Directorate General for Informatics) support to data spaces and the role of DSSC (Data Spaces Support Centre), together with the tools and support for the development of these spaces.
The first webinar ‘Data spaces: Introducing the concept and relevance in today’s world’ took place on 12 May and introduced the concept of data spaces and the policy and legal framework behind it. It also provided an initial overview of the different data spaces developed in strategic fields, the technical aspects and the benefits and challenges of implementing them. The second webinar, on 15 September, featured two experts on specific sectorial data spaces (Health and Cultural Heritage) and shedding light on how these spaces contribute to the European data strategy and provide insights into the future of these data spaces.
The upcoming session will highlight the technical components of data spaces, among other building blocks, to provide insights into the various strategic data spaces, what is necessary for success, and how this compares to a portal. The session will include a discussion on the key building blocks necessary for data spaces and how these can unleash the potential they offer and their set up from a technical and semantical point of view. Finally, a Q&A session will be held, offering you the opportunity to ask questions to the experts on data spaces.
