Join our third webinar on ‘Stories of use cases’ and learn more about open data-driven initiatives for a new push for European democracy

On Friday 26 May from 10.00 to 11.30 CET, the data.europa academy will host the third edition of its webinar series ‘Stories of use cases’ on EU political priorities. Making the most of open data is crucial for addressing global challenges and promoting innovation. This edition will focus on open data and its potential to support a new push for European democracy, by presenting initiatives that use open data to protect and strengthen European democracy. It is following the previous webinar in the series covering the EU Green Deal and A European way of life and an economy that works for people.

The European Commission has defined six political priorities for 2019 to 2024, amongst which A new push for European democracy. The EU is based on shared democratic values such as a commitment to fundamental human rights, the protection of a free and independent press, upholding the rule of law and ensuring equality for everyone. The political priority aims to nurture and strengthen these values across Europe.

The webinar will start with an introduction to the political priority and the role of open data, followed by presentations from representatives of use cases and a panel discussion to ask questions and share insights on open data supporting EU democracy.
