Join us on 12 September to discover how data is transforming tourism across Europe

Curious about how data spaces are reshaping tourism? Don’t miss our upcoming data.europa academy webinar! Join us on Friday, 12 September 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 CEST, for our next session:Data spaces: experience from the European Tourism Data Space’.

As summer comes to an end, tourism remains a key driver of Europe’s economy. From vibrant cities to coastal towns, the sector supports millions of jobs and promotes cultural exchange. Yet it faces increasing challenges, including fragmented data systems, sustainability demands, and global disruptions. To remain competitive and resilient, the industry must leverage trustworthy, high-quality data to drive innovation and smarter decision-making. Supporting this shift, the European Commission is developing the Common European Tourism Data Space (ETDS) under the DEPLOYTOUR project, part of the broader European Data Strategy. The ETDS enables secure, decentralised, and interoperable data sharing across the tourism ecosystem.

In this webinar, we’ll introduce the ETDS and explore how it is helping to build a smarter, more connected, and sustainable tourism sector. The session will feature insights from a DEPLOYTOUR expert, who will share the data space’s objectives, best practices, and lessons learned. Additionally, two real-life case studies will be presented, Pleiades and EONA-X, which will show how data sharing is improving tourism services in regions such as the Paris Region (France) and Syros Island (Greece). The webinar will conclude with a Q&A session, where our speakers will address your questions on this topic.

Whether you’re shaping tourism policy, managing destinations, or simply curious about the future of travel, this webinar offers practical insights into how shared data infrastructures like the ETDS can support smarter, more connected public services across Europe. Register today to be part of this relevant session!
