UDP - Population weighted density, 2010 - 2050 (JRC LUISA Reference Scenario 2016)
Udgiver
Beskrivelse
Population weighted density refers to a metric which measures the density at which the average citizen lives. It is calculated by taking weighted average of the density of all parcels of land that make up a city, with each parcel weighted by its population (using the formula D=Σ(Pidi)/ΣPi, where D is the population-weighted density of an metro area and Pi and di the respective population and density of each “parcels”). For this indicator, we extend this concept to larger geographical boundaries (LAU2 or country) and consider 1km pixels as “parcels”. The unit of the indicator is person / km2.
