Apraksts
The 2014 annual report on the activities of the European Ombudsman contains information on the implementation of the Ombudsman's new strategy, ‘Towards 2019’. The strategy places emphasis on the strategic issues of EU public administration, such as transparency and accountability of the institutions and agencies of the European Union.
The report also presents results of the Ombudsman's investigation into the transparency of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) negotiations. It also provides data on its contribution to increasing lobbying transparency in the EU, through investigations, including the composition and transparency of the European Commission’s expert groups and the ‘revolving door’ phenomenon.
Further topics are the data transparency of clinical trials, fundamental rights, ethical issues, participation of citizens in EU decision-making and EU-funded programmes and projects.
The report also includes data on numbers of complaints from individuals, members of civil society organisations, businesses and other interests.
