Activation reason:
Flash floods in the areas of Mandra and Nea Peramos (Athen's western outskirts) that started on Wednesday 15-11-2017 early morning, turned roads into raging torrents of mud and debris, killing at least 20 people, inundating homes and businesses and disturbing the traffic at several section of a Athens-Korinthos highway and nearby roads. The General Secretary for Civil Protection has declared the area in State of Emergency. Copernicus EMS Mapping products will be used mainly by the local authorities (Region of Attika, Municipalities) for recovery and restoration planning of the affected area.
