Open Data: Digital Economy Accelerators
The Open Data Hub Slovenia hosted the event “Open Data – Digital Economy Accelerators” on 7 May 2020. The European Data Portal (EDP) was present during the event with two keynote speakers. The event focused on open data in Slovenia and Europe. There were several speakers at the event, including:
- An official of the Slovenian Ministry of Public Administration, the Technology Park Ljubljana and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia who provided the opening address.
- Barbara Ubaldi - representing the OECD - talked about digital governance and open government data policies.
- Esther Bodil Huyer and Laura van Knippenberg – representing the European Data Portal – discussed the report on The Economic Impact of Open Data and the results of their research.
- Aleks Jakulin and Luka Renko presenting Data Excellence and experience of the Slovenian COVID-19 tracker project.
The presentations were followed by a panel discussion on how open data contributes to the development of the economy and society in Slovenia and in the broader (European) region. The conference can be viewed online here.
