DCAT and DCAT-AP: Achieving interoperability through data modelling and standardisation

A common language is necessary to ensure that open data is interoperable and can be used by organisations and institutions across Europe. This lesson introduces the language DCAT and DCAT-AP and highlights its importance in achieving interoperability across Europe by supporting data modelling and standardising data publication. Through webinars and readings, you’ll learn how to create metadata in accordance with DCAT and DCAT-AP and understand what metadata is and how it relates to the language. You’ll also gain insights on basic DCAT models and examples of DCAT entities, and recognise possible issues during the development of DCAT and DCAT-AP.
