Galileo-based applications for Covid-19 response

Since the outbreak of Covid-19, the European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency (GSA) has been compiling a database of apps to map and track the spread of the disease.

The page on GNSS Apps for the response to Covid-19 lists Galileo-based apps that use GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) to help:

  • public authorities understand the dynamics of the outbreak
  • the public in everyday life like for instance, by enabling people to check how long supermarket queues are, so they can avoid peak times.

GSA has grouped the apps into the following categories:

  • Monitoring the pandemic
  • Queue management
  • Response management
  • Information dissemination
  • Open source, platforms, other initiatives
  • Equality and inclusion
  • Sport & wellness.

To find out more about the applications, contact the developer and owner of the relevant intellectual property rights.

If you are a developer and want to add your app to the list, email market@gsa.europa.eu
