EU Open Data Days: what’s on the programme?

The event is open for registration, book your place soon

The first EU Open Data Days are gathering steam and the draft programme is now available and filled with expert speakers in various thematic sessions. Spread over three half-days, this fully online event will take place from 23 - 25 November 2021, combining the EU DataViz conference and the EU Datathon competition.

The first day will cast light on open data as the driving force for shaping Europe’s digital future, including its challenges and potential. The second day will highlight the importance of communicating data efficiently using visualisations to convey the right message and understand complex issues. Both will showcase best practices and techniques to build data narratives and better serve citizens.

The third and final day will be devoted to the EU Datathon’s finals. The 9 finalists will pitch their applications to the jury who will select the winning teams in each of the three categories: A European Green Deal, An economy that works for people, and A Europe fit for the digital age. The thematic challenges will be introduced by an expert panel and the event will close with an award ceremony.

The EU Open Data Days will feature experts from the EU and beyond, from academia, and organisations from the public and private sectors. Participants will have a chance to get valuable insights into open data and data-visualisation practices and techniques from world-renowned speakers, such as Nuria Oliver, Alberto Cairo, Ravi Kumar and others.

The event is free and open for everyone to attend. Check the programme in more detail and book your spot now!
