Register now for our panel discussion on ‘Data controllership and anonymisation’

Save the date to learn about data privacy from experts

On 12 July 2024 from 10.00 to 11.30 CEST, join us for the panel discussion ‘Data controllership and anonymisation'. This session hosted by data.europa Academy, provides the audience with information about how nonpersonal data can become personal data, how controllership is assessed, and how these legal requirements impact open data sharing.

Personal data is protected by law, for example the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Personal data can be defined as ‘information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person’. These types of laws ensure that personalised data cannot easily be shared with, and processed by other parties, protecting natural persons. A data controller is the person responsible for determining the purpose and means of personal data that is processed.

During our panel discussion, two panellists will address the two topics. A PhD researcher from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) will talk about personal data and the impact on recent court decisions. Next to this, another PhD researcher from KU Leuven will dive deep into data and joint controllership. The webinar is for everyone interested in the legal side of open data and provides the opportunity to ask questions to experts.

Discover the dynamic world of open data and the impact of laws on personal data and learn how to anonymise this data. Register now to secure your spot and be part of this informative event.
